Student Eligibility Criteria for P.E.O. Chapter BW Scholarship

  • Exhibits excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success

  • 20 years of age or younger by application deadline

  • Is in the final academic year (senior year) of her secondary education at the time of application deadline

  • Has a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States or Canada

  • Plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the United States or Canada full-time or part-time in the fall of the academic year following high school graduation

 

The Chapter BW Scholar will be nominated

for the P.E.O. National Star Scholarship.

The P.E.O. National Star Scholarship provides a $2500 award to high school senior women who wish to pursue post-secondary education.  The student selected to be the Chapter BW Scholar must complete the National P.E.O. online application within 30 days from the date the link is sent from the STAR supervisor to complete.  This application will include the student profile, student activity and award charts, original one page essay not to exceed 700 words, unofficial high school transcript (through the 11th grade/junior year), and two reference letters.  If the student nominated by Chapter BW for the National award does not receive the National scholarship, she will receive a smaller scholarship directly from Chapter BW.
